<----- We saw the sun coming up.
So early on Monday morning, Sept 1st, we woke up to go to Memorial park for the Hot Air Balloons. When I say early I mean early. We were there by 5:30 am. We were told the first wave went out at 6:00am. Well, not really, the first wave didn't go out until a little after 7:00
. The sun wasn't even up yet and our
girls were eating cereal out of baggies.Once the sun came up some family members met us there (Cameron's sister's family and my parents). We had a good talk with the girls about not being afraid and they did surprisingly well. We kept our distance which helped a bit.
From there we went to my parents (on the drive over the girls fell asleep) to have breakfast. After breakfast we headed over to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo!

It was the first time for Avonlea and it had been two years since Brooklyn's last trip here (she was Avy's age). The animals put on quite a show for us. Especially the Elephants! They were running around playing with 5 gallons buckets and splashing around in the water and the mud. The most exciting thing to see was of course the Giraffes and being able to feed them. Avy was so brave and feed them all by her self without being afraid (at this age Brooklyn was very afraid and would drop the cracker before the giraffe could get it. They even got licked by their black tongues.
When then had a Labor Day BBQ at my parents house! Brooklyn was so mad at us when it was time to go. She wanted to stay at
Papa's house. All day with them just wasn't long enough.Over all it was a great day. The next day however, I was quite sore. My poor legs are not made for walking.
