Do I have something in my teeth?

You know when you go to a party and they have raw Broccoli to snack on and you have 2 fears 1) Getting the little broccoli pieces stuck in your teeth and
2) have the dreadful gas that usually comes after eating it.
Well Lincoln put all fears aside and chewed it all right up! And yes he did get some stuck in his little teeth and yes he was very tooty later.

Fat Boy in a Little Suit

Lincoln has been walking for two months now and has earned getting a "fancy suit" for church! We took this of him last Sunday right before church. He was one Cute, Chubby, Little Boy!

Spring Break 2010

I think we are starting to have a on going theme with our Spring Breaks. Two years ago I had gotten really sick (from my kidney stones) and was throwing up in the ER. Then last year, it snowed so much that we got the chance to potty train Avy (because we were not going any where). This year we had a little bit of both: throw up and snow. Here were our events from Spring Break 2010!

Day 1) Go to Birthday Party for niece and Cameron isn't feeling too well and blames it on the "too much sugar he ate". and he sleeps on the couch.

Day 2) A Beautiful day! After my morning meeting we went to Peterson Air Force Base for Cameron's dental appointment which was so conveniently located by a playground and an airport. So we had a picnic here while watching the Airplanes take off and land (the kids really loved watching that, which is good because I have a feeling they will see many airplanes in the near future)! Then got my Military ID (luckily it was in black in white, was not having a good face day). While Cameron worked out some of his paycheck matters we walked to another playground, then to the awesome swimming pool, and to the bowling alley (watched the bowlers and ate fries)! Then off to my parents house, where we spent FHE and dinner with them. Oh and the girls went to another playground (yes that is right 3 in one day, we were stocking up).

Day 3) Did some "spring cleaning" out my closets. Then went swimming at our indoor swimming pool with cousins! They kids all really love to swim and Brooklyn continues to amaze us. Avy is still very timid in the water, especially when her daddy lets her go and her face goes first into the water. But she has become very content sitting on the stairs. Lincoln loves it as well (mostly when Daddy holds him) and has been going since he was 6 months old. Then we had a yummy taco dinner followed with Brooklyn saying she was sick... Cameron thought it was all in her head because he was "sick" until she threw up, then and only then did he realize (or come to the fact) that he was really sick and has now given to his daughter. She took it like a pro and Cameron slept on the couch (again) to monitor her (who was sleeping on the other couch) thru the night.

Day 4) We wake up to lots of Snow! So much snow we couldn't even open our front door without using much force. So between a sick little girl and the other ones with the "runs" we were going no where real fast.

Day 5) Everyone is better!! We went to the Library and I had my first Creative Memories Party at my home!

Day 6) Still cold out (and snowed wet snow in the evening) and go to the Library again to watch a man preform for story time and play with friends. I helped a friend make the frosting's for her son's Birthday cake and then spent some one on one time with Brooklyn by running errands. Ate a yummy dinner, baths, scriptures, and movies. Cameron and I watch a "grown up movie" (something about the Morgans) and Brooklyn and Avy watched ET!!! It was so cute to here her talk about it afterwords and all the little things that excited her. She

said, " I cried, just my eyes with out the noises!" She cried at the part where ET was dying and then said, "I wish my bike could fly like that." Then as we were walking by my room to go to her bed she saw the red phone light on and said, " What is that red light! I am not going by that read light!" I remember the first time I saw ET and was in the back of my family van at a drive in! I hope this is one of the things she remembers from Spring Break 2010.

Day 7) Tomorrow has not yet come, but here are our plans. Drop Cameron off for Cantata Practice dress rehearsal then run some errands (Target for a much need swimming suit for me and some white knee highs), then off the the Mall for the kids to play and to get some books from Borders for a Birthday gift and maybe swing by Children's Place and see if their Easter outfits are on sale. Then pick up Cameron and head up to Denver to go to the Temple (give kids to parents who just get done working in the temple) and then back at 3 ish to pick them up. Then to a Birthday Party and lastly to stuff ourselves so we can store up for fast Sunday. <--- We did the first half of that but didn't make it to the Temple. Avy Threw up in the car on the way there (it figures since that is our spring break theme), so we turned around luckily we were only 15 minutes out...

Over all and all even with the snow and the throw ups, it was a good week! Lots of family time which is all I really can ask for.

I am going Creative!

So it is official! I am a working Women! But it isn't like work, it is like having parties to do something that you value.

I am now a Creative Memories Consultant. Check out my website

http://www.mycmsite.com/sites/rcoon

There are so many reasons why I have joined the world of working women and have chosen this venue to follow. My reasons in no particular order.

1). I use to scrap for free through our family housing and haven't done anything in 3 years (I am just a little bit behind, being that I've had 2 more kids since then).

2). I get GREAT products for a lot less. I won't lie I am in it mostly for me... I love good deals and this one . A good friend said, "Creative Memories is like the Macy's for scrap booking."

3) Cameron is going to be gone this summer and I need something "adult" like but still family center activity to keep my brain busy. You ever notice how after spending a day with your kids and never talking to another adult how all you have on the brain is kid stuff?

4). I've found out there is so much more to it then just cut and paste! But is it a chance to create! And what do I cherish more then the memories of my family... not too many other things are of more value to me, and yet I've neglected it.

5). Lastly, I love to PARTY!

So yesterday I went to our RS Birthday party and they had this video they showed us with Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf giving his talk from “Happiness, Your Heritage,” Ensign, Nov 2008, 117–20 and he said some pretty insightful things.

"The desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul. No matter our talents, education, backgrounds, or abilities, we each have an inherent wish to create something that did not exist before.

Everyone can create. You don’t need money, position, or influence in order to create something of substance or beauty.

Creation brings deep satisfaction and fulfillment. We develop ourselves and others when we take unorganized matter into our hands and mold it into something of beauty—and I am not talking about the process of cleaning the rooms of your teenage children.

You might say, “I’m not the creative type. When I sing, I’m always half a tone above or below the note. I cannot draw a line without a ruler. And the only practical use for my homemade bread is as a paperweight or as a doorstop.”

If that is how you feel, think again, and remember that you are spirit daughters of the most creative Being in the universe...

You may think you don’t have talents, but that is a false assumption, for we all have talents and gifts, every one of us. The bounds of creativity extend far beyond the limits of a canvas or a sheet of paper and do not require a brush, a pen, or the keys of a piano. Creation means bringing into existence something that did not exist before—colorful gardens, harmonious homes, family memories, flowing laughter."

Hearing this just tickled me pink! I am not the "creative type" but love to create and it makes since why! So I am going Creative!!

PS. I use to like to cook lots of yummy goods and that was my creative outlet, however, that was only short lived moment of happiness and could only reflect on my new added inches to my waist. :-)

Baby Rockstar

Lincoln is one Hott Little Rockstar! I finally got him his own sunglasses. He has been wearing his sister's pink and white polka dot ones or their little mermaid pair. We got them from Children's Place (2 for $5) and they are the size for the 4-7 year olds. That was the only size that would fit for his big boy head! He went to Avy's school to pick her up in these and a little boy said, "He looks like a Baby Rockstar!". I would have to agree, I know he is the little star that rocks my world. And is constantly getting approached in stores from all of his random admires to want to rave on how cute and smart he is!
His Super Star Qualities
He is such a good helper around the house and likes to throw trash away in the trash can (mostly diapers but whatever I ask him as well)! He has mastered our stairs (up and down) and loves to play fetch! He is just like a puppy! You throw him a ball, he waddles after it, returns it for more and gets more and more excited after each throw! Also he uses his manner by saying please (patting his chest) and says more. We love seeing how smart he is and how fast he is learning.

Kindergarten isn't what it use to be

Here is a little flash back... way back 20 years ago...

I remember when I was in Kindergarten. I remember my favorite recess guard (Mrs. Debbie) and I remember my teacher (Mrs. Evans) and her husband was a police man. I remember saying riddles and being the sheriff for clean up time and the stars we would get on the chart for doing well! I remember the happy show and tell yellow box and bringing my dog Tiffany to school. I remember going out in the hall and working on writing my name (my parents didn't teach me how so I was behind). I DO NOT REMEMBER ALL THE PRESSURE!

Now a days they wants kids reading (yes reading), sight words, blending words, and 1 minute time test! They want them to know numbers from 1-100 and to be able to write them not in order! Brooklyn's half day class does the same work load as the full day class, which means a lot less time playing with friends and a lot more time rushing through work sheets. I remember worrying if little Justin liked me and how to stay away from him during kiss tag. My worries seem so much more simpler then now a days.

Brooklyn has a Math tutor for after school and an extra teacher she works with during school hours to work on her blending! Yes I know I am the mother and could put my foot down at her parent teacher conferences and yes I have voiced my concern, that she is just 5! That is great for all the kids who can read (I think that is amazing and they deserve much praise) but should my daughter be pressured into it? I don't think she is ready and she really really dislikes working with me on Homework. BUT I would rather they cared about her, then not caring at all (that is the only reason why I let them give her extra help). However, Learning is not fun to her! I remember loving school because I loved Kindergarten. I fear she will hate to learn even before she starts...
