Oh the Joys of Sunday

Sunday always seems to be an eventful and entertaining day for our family. I find my best blogs come while we are at church. Brooklyn, bless her heart, decided she wanted to sing the songs from the Hymns during sacrament. Wow! I know what you are thinking. What an amazing child to know the words to the songs. Oh no, that is not the case. Granted she is amazing but today this was not her talent. She was trying to sing the best she could with no words, but with howling and ooh and oh yes Alleluia. She was singing so loud and off tune that she was out singing me! Also I was shaking so bad from keeping the laughter in and could no longer sing. I didn't want to discourage her hard efforts and yet it was such a sight to Hear!
To add to our Sunday events I decided to flash everyone my bum (you know you are a parent when that is the choice word to use)! No worries, it wasn't on purpose, but it was noticed. Probably everyone in the overflow saw that side of me! Luckily a good friend was kind and quick enough to let me in on this and just in time before I walked down the aisle.
Go ahead and laugh, but not to loud.

Kidney Stones-No fun

So the next day (Monday after Easter) the pain in my back came back! This made me fear that is was something more then just a KIDNEY STONE. With that being said I told Cameron that I really wanted to go to the ER to be checked out. So we got the girls shoes on and ready to go on the most uncomfortable car ride ever to the hospital. We arrive there at 3:25 pm and I had already been in major pain for 90 minutes. We called my mom who was nice enough to come and get the girls and take them to her home. I was standing almost the whole time while waiting because that felt better then sitting. In less then an hour I threw up 3 times (not because I was sick) but because my body could not handle the pain. I asked if there was a room where it was more private where I could scream. They were nice enough to give me that. Here I tried to lay down because by now I was exhausted. I told Cameron that my pain was now up to a 10 and we had been waiting for over an hour. He let them know and after words gave me a blessing as I cried in pain.
Then finally we heard the magic words, "Rachael, Rachael Coon.". I had never been so excited to hear my name! It was like winning the Lottery. Of course by the time I got into my room my pain had lessen to a 6 instead of 10 and I was finally able to pee in a cup.
We where there from 3:25 to 9:30 and in that time we played more games (Cameron and I) then anything else. However, I did get lots of blood taken and a cool CT Scan! Oh and the blood pressure machine almost exploded because the tech left it on (not on me at least) and it filled up to the point of almost bursting and the monitor was beeping (who know the sound that is made on tv when someone dies) and it took almost five minutes for anyone to come in and see what was going on. Of course they only came in because I made a noise of concern.
So the doctor said, "You have a kidney stone!" and, "it is blocking the way into the bladder." So after giving me lots of prescription drugs to go get she also tells me I have to see a specialist tomorrow. And the whole pain reliever I got in this 6 hour period was in the very last 5 minutes I was there!!!!!!!!
Kidney stones are no fun and can be in there for over a month! I am feeling better, but it is hard to know if it is me feeling good or the drugs. I'll keep you posted if I ever find that little (2-3 mm) stone!

Easter Activities!

We had a very interesting Easter that is for sure! First let me back up to Thursday. Some friends of ours that go to our church (who have a huge beautiful home) invited us and other families over to do an Easter egg hunt in their home. The girls had such a good time there that it made me change the way I wanted to do Easter for the girls. Usually we just have the Easter Baskets full of stuff (candies, toothbrush, new dresses, stuff like that) but this year the Easter Bunny left eggs hidden or not so hidden all around our apartment. So the girls woke up and were so excited to find all of the eggs. They didn't even care what was in their baskets before they empty them. Then we had a breakfast that was a little more fancier then usual and then as I was washing dishes my lower back started to hurt. I thought I that is was just sore, but it grew into something much MUCH more then that. I tried to do normal things in hopes it would just fade away. But after finishing Brooklyn's hair I knew I would have to lay down because the pain was on both sides, back and front. The pain grew steadily and there was nothing I could do to be comfortable. I felt best just to lay on the floor next to the toilet. Which was a good location because I got dizzy and throw up. Still not feeling better I ease my way onto the couch and was in a "better" position. Then it was constant and there was nothing I could do but the moan and groan some of the pain. Cameron believes it is a kidney stone being passes through my system (being that he had one a couple years back) and was hesitate in going to the hospital because all they could do was to give me drugs to help ease the pain. But I was at the point where I wanted drugs. Cameron gave me a blessing and we called my dad so he could watch the girls and I stand up to get some jeans on and my shoes and stood standing and rocking. Brooklyn was so sweet and let me hold her Easter bunny and oddly enough my pain was creeping away! I couldn't believe it my self. But while standing I was able to go to the worst pain ever to complete relief. I was a little sore (like muscle sore) but nothing compared to where I was. We called my dad and told him to turn around. I then started to get ready for church and was in my dress and showered, but then throw up again because I tried to take some pain meds. It was clear that I should stay home with Avy (she had a runny nose).
It took about the 3 hours while they were at church for all the pain to be gone. For the rest of the night I was fine. In fact my parents came over for dinner and we all went to Cameron's Easter Concert! Which they did an amazing job The girls looked so cute in their dresses. What an Easter huh?!

Brooklyn's First Primary Talk

Yesterday Brooklyn gave her first talk in Primary! She did such an amazing job! She had pictures of Jesus Christ and talked about how she is trying to be like him. The whole room was silent and listening to her speak into the microphone. I whispered the words into her ears and she said them so clearly that everyone could understand. When she was done we heard a lot of "ooo's" and ahh's" and of course "she is so cute." was said too (mind you this was all said by the other children). Cameron is in the back with his face just beaming with pride and as I sat back down with her I had to hold back the tears of joy! The greatest part about it was that she learned so much about Jesus. The thing that bothered her the most in the pictures and what she keeps on talking about is how he bleeds. She never knew that he died for her and that he was hurt (and bleeding is the worse kind of hurt around here). I want to add my testimony of Christ especially around this time of year. That I know he died for me and lives again!
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Go Irish! And Have a Very Happy Easter!

Who will Marry Me?

Brooklyn has just recently started asking me, "Who will marry Me?". Cameron chimes in and says that she can marry him. I try to tell her that he is mine and she has to go find her husband. We have a friendly banter of this for a little while fighting over Cameron. But yesterday she asked this question again, but answered herself. She said, "I know a prince can marry me!" I was so thrilled! Not only do I get my husband back but every mother hopes the best for a children and a Prince is as good as it gets!

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day was fun for the girls. They got their Valentine's and thought they were the neatest things ever. They played in the flour as we made heart shape cookies and Brooklyn was in charge of sprinkle control on the frosting. Some sprinkles for the cookies, some for her. They wore their matching shirts (which they love to do) and they after an amazing dinner made by Cameron went to the Mall to play. While we were there their Grandpa and Grandma Mann came by to relieve us and Cameron and I were able to be ALONE! It was short lived, but very nice.
