Kids Accomplishments

As any mother, I think that my kids are just wonderful (well they are). I am going to take just a couple of minutes to brag about them and some updates.

Brooklyn

Brooklyn is an AMAZING swimmer! My dad likes to treat them to swim lessons to order to have his hand slightly in her great skill. However, she has surpassed the younger level of lessons she is in and the teacher asked if we could put her in the high levels. She is only 5 and can tread water (mostly because she is a shorty like me and can rarely touch)! She has been swimming with her face in the water under the water for 2 years now and is just fearless! She will have to be if she is going to swim on Shamu's back some day.

She is going into week 3 of school and thinks it is... boring. She loves her little friends however. Hopefully she can learn to love learning soon.
* I will post some swimming video's later this week

Avonlea

Avy just turned three and surprised me the other day while at B&N while coloring a picture. When the time was up she brought her picture over to me to see and I was so impressed! She wrote her own name (Avy) without me helping her in any way! I was so happy for her small but exciting accomplishment.

We did have her tested recently to see what needs to be done for her speech. These are the results: she is a very very smart little girl hands down. The specialist were so impressed with how well she is doing academically (knows the sounds of some letters, can write letters, and listens very well). But she is very SHY and rarely talks to anyone outside of her own family and even then, it is really hard for us to understand her 50% of the time. That being said, she gets to go for FREE to preschool twice a week to work on her social skills (something I can't teach her at home very well) and to work with a speech specialist ! There are also once a month work shops for us to go to together to learn how to help her better with her speech!!! Usually I am anti preschool and think it just a glorified babysitter, however, Avy has needs that I can not meet in the home that could effect her future. She starts next week and I look forward to her progress.

Lincoln

What can I say about Lincoln? He is just too cute! He is feeding himself more and more every day and loves to laugh at his sisters (or hymnals at church)! He is just our little buddle of Joy.

He has his weight check this week and should be just fine (he is now 17.2 lbs on our scale). He has no teeth and no desire to crawl (which I love, for now, when he is a chunka monka I will want him to move around himself).

Brooklyn Goes to Kindergarten

My Brooklyn is Officially all Grown up!
Today was the first day of Kindergarten at Rockrimmon Elementary
She has an amazing teacher and should have an Amazing year!
Today Cameron had said something that triggered this thought
Today was her first day into a 13 year long journey.

To make the day extra special I took the girls to Barnes and Noble to redeem some gift cards. They got 2 books and a movie they have been wanting for awhile... BOLT!
While in the store she was hugging and kissing the case all over! Forget kindergarten, this was her high point of the day!
Also she said (so unsure how true, but sounds like something she would do) that she read Good Night Gorilla in front of the whole class! Good thing we read it just 2 nights before! So proud of our little girl!

Kiss and Tell

Okay all you out there who would like to share stories or are hopelessly romantic (like me) and want to hear, I am requesting some KISS and TELL stories. Here are the rules:

1) Write out the details of your first kiss with your husband (because no other kiss really matters)
2) At the bottom of your story request the friends you would like to hear from
3) Attach a G rated photo of you kissing
4) Tell your spouse you love him and give them a BIG SMOOCH!

Cameron and Rachael First Kiss Story

So it was all most exactly 7 years ago that we had our first kiss. Cameron I and started dating in the beginning of August on a Wednesday. We had 3 dates between then and our first kiss. It was a Sunday evening and we had just spent the whole day together. We went to church together and then I met his family, ate with them and then we walked around my neighborhood talking about ourselves and life goals.

The day was coming to an end and he had taken me home. He walked me to my door step like he always did. I stepped on my step above so we could hug goodbye and I turned to go inside. I was fiddling with my keys (which is huge sign according to Hitch) and the next then I heard was, "Come over here"... So I did! We kissed our first kiss and he said, "I would had felt really stupid leaving you tonight and not doing that." And that was a good enough reason for me! He was my last first kiss. They always say, You save the best for last.

Requesting to kiss and tell: Ashlie, Alyssa, Emily, Laura, Kims, Lori, Becky, Nicole and whomever else wants to share!

Camping

First Camping trip all together with our little Family!!!
Sorry about the picture overload, scroll down for the written highlights

There is a whole in my bucket skit with Cameron's Sister! He hates country music, but looks great in a Cowboy hat (he agrees and wants a hat).

One word: FIRE!
They put on a talent Show and Brooklyn Sang
Waking up in the morning! Brrr cold!
Natures teething stick! Notice Cameron is the one holding him, I would never let him chew on a stick, but he loved it and that is what Dad's are for.
First time in a outside swing and he loved it!! Should have done it sooner!

Cameron's Mother put on a wonderful Family Reunion this past weekend. It started on Friday, but we didn't get there until Saturday evening. It took place only an hour away from us at the Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp in Divide, Colorado. Very very beautiful place with great accommodations. Well most of our family members lodged in cabins with beds and couches and heat. However, we pitched a tent (with the help of our amazing neighbors). Then had a fun talent show where I discovered Cameron comes from a very talented family. Also a very spiritual and loving family. We had a testimony/devotional meeting Sunday morning in the chapel there. Let's back track a little... Saturday we had visitors at our came site. Cameron's sisters (all is sisters were there except for one) and kids came over for some Smores and singing around the camp fire!! We had such a good time getting back to the basics in the beautiful woods (9400 above sea level). Cameron wants to make this a family hobby... I will get back to him on that one (sleeping was no fun with Linky and wet bed *see other blog for details. I couldn't wait until the sun came up and the night was over).

What I learned...
Even in the month of August, pack lots and lots of things to keep you warm. I forgot how cold it gets at night when camping! Also, that is takes days to get the smokey camp fire smell out of everything.

*Thanks to David my brother who let us borrow his huge tent, we would have been cramped up in a 2 man tent and loved having the extra space.

8 months Old

8 MONTHS OLD
Lincoln C Coon Updates

First fun photos!

Our Linky Dinky has had some big accomplishments in the last month.
He is officially sitting by himself on the floor, with only rare cases of falling over. Which means all three kids are playing together!!! He still hates his belly time, which makes him roll over even faster once placed there. He is CLAPPING, especially when "he is happy and you know it"!This BOY loves his Food! Here are some of his favorites: baby food from jars (all even veggies and meats), cheerios, breads of any kind (rolls, pizza, pop tarts, cakes, brownies, toast, etc), cream of wheat, oatmeal, whole green beans, waffles, pancakes, noodles, and the list just goes on and on. Granted he has no teeth still, that doesn't slow down his hunger.

Height: 26.2 inches 8th%
Weight: 15.6 2nd%
Head: 18.3 inches 89%
Size 3 diapers (finally)

He is such a joy and a little lover! He gives hugs and open mouth kisses all the time and has said Mum to me (I was leaving the room, he said it and I came back and he smiled. He did this twice in one day)!! We are so Happy to have him part of our Family!

Updates coming soon

There has been so much going on lately, but I will have to update later! I've been sick (as the kids) and I need to regroup a bit...don't worry it will be worth the wait.
