Moving updates, Kid Quotes, and Pregnancy Woes

Moving updates:
We have packers and movers coming over just in time (the 30th)! We have to be out by the 1st of August, which gives us one good day of cleaning!! A HUGE sigh of relief came over us when we heard the news and are a lot less stressed! Also it saves us at least $5000 by having the military move us (nice eh)?

Kid Quotes:
Cameron was earnestly asking Avy (our almost 4 year old) why she doesn't talk to other people. You can hear his frustration as he asks her and she replies, "Because that is how Jesus made me." Cameron's frustration soon turns into a smile and says, "How can I argue with that?" After moments of laughter of his young daughter out smarting him we talk about how Jesus helped us to have choices and now it is her choice to talk to others and not Jesus choice. :-) Our little smarty pants.

Lincoln and I were walking hand in hand across the street a little while ago and I say to him, "Link, I love you." He replies with, "Mom... wuv you!" My heart melted that very moment that will now be a memory I will remember forever.

Pregnancy woes:
I am 16 weeks along (whoo hoo)!! And I am feeling the baby move ever so slightly. Mostly only when I lay for long periods of time reading a book in complete silence. Which is rare, but I love it because I feel that I have an on going inside joke that will continue even after it's birth.

2 weeks ago at my doctors appointment the doctor was trying to find my baby's heart beat. After minutes of trying and retrying she still couldn't find it. So says she has to go get the ultrasound machine from another room and leaves me to my own thoughts. I quickly say a silent prayer that everything would alright, regardless of the finding of the ultrasound. Then a sheer blanket of comfort was covering me and I was even smiling again. I knew everything would be alright. She comes back in with the machine and sure enough my little one is waving to us and it's little heart (which we can see) is beating away nicely. It measures perfectly on schedule and I got to see my little one again!! It was a scary brief moment turned into a look into my baby's life... a tender moment.

Lastly, I have some weight issues or the lack of weight issues. In 3 months I am under the weight I started at and was being considered a "high risk pregnancy". I told her I was over weight to start with (by my ideas not on their charts though) and by just looking at me you can tell my tummy area is not lacking (either is my thigh area, or my bum, arms or face area). Luckily she was nice and wasn't worried enough to lecture me. It is just like Link's pregnancy. With the girls I would gain about 3 pounds a month and 10 pounds in my 4th month (and they would worry about that too) but in the end it all evens out to 25-30 lbs that I gain. I worried last time with Link, this time I don't care until someone tries to make a big deal about it.

Moving again...

For those who don't know... we are on the move! Cameron leaves this week to go to his 3 month Officer training school and we are moving out of our comfy townhouse and into 2 bedrooms in my parents basement. We thought a military move would be great! They do all the work and we would just have to separate to what is going to storage, with me and with Cameron. However, since we don't know how the system works yet we were a bit lost on how to get the ball rolling. Cameron has a meeting today (7/19) and they will let us know if we have given the movers enough time to get us out of here before the 31st!! So that is plan A.

Plan B is for us to pack and move everything into a storage unit for one month or until the "real movers" can come and pick it up and take it to Utah to store. This way at least we don't have to pay for it, which would be nice. And that is our main goal for staying with my parents to save money and the other is so that I can have some help.

Needless to stay I am a bit stress and it shows in my face! My husband leaves this week, my home looks like a wrecking ball has come through and to add more fun my parents are trying to get rid of BED BUGS before we move anything over!! Oh and sweet Avy's Birthday is next week! Luckily, I have friends willing to help and throw us parties, make Avy's cakes (cup cakes and her pretty princess cake). And to help us clean! Stay tune for what will happen: plan A or B?

PS after Cameron's 3 months we will be moving to Hill AFB in Utah!!! WE are very excited about this move because we will still be close to family!

Cameron's Birthday

On July 6th was Cameron's Birthday! We did our yearly usual and went out for Sushi and a Hibachi grill! The girls loved watching the fire on our table and the food was ok (I've had better both in Florida and in Texas). Lincoln was saying "hot, hot!" the whole time and "mor pleze"! Then we had some very yummy homemade split pea soup and by 7:00 his family and friends came over for Cake, ice cream, and Games! Cameron is aging very gracefully and still people think he is in his 20's. If it wasn't for his 6 year old daughter that gives it completely away I think he could get away looking younger! All in all it was a great day!! Happy Birthday Cameron, we love you!!!

At the Top of Pikes Peak

Going to the top of Pikes Peak was one of our family goals this summer. It was very important to us before we left the great town of Colorado Springs that we took our little family to the Very Top of the 14,110 mountain! There are 3 ways we could have gone up: hiked up (not a good idea with little kids and my state of being pregnant), drove our car up for $35 or pay a little extra and ride the longest Cog rail train!! Can you guess what we did?

Here is Lincoln and I sitting on the train going down. Both him and Avy were free because they sat on our laps the whole time! Which is good because Link fell asleep on the way up and Avy fell asleep on the way down.

Here is the picture of the Cog rail on the very top of the peak. You can see Colorado Springs down below and Cameron said he could see Downtown Denver because it was such a clear day. I could see Kansas... it was the flat thing out east.

Here is all of us on the train. My parents came with us too. They have lived her for 10+ years and have never rode on the train!

Brooklyn and Avonlea did such a great job and Cameron even spoiled them with some cute stuff animals from the shop up top. All the way up the guide would tell us cool facts and made it very interesting (we even bought the cool coffee table book with info all in it, all we need now is a coffee table). Once we made the 1 hour trip to the top we got out and had 30 minutes or else the train would leave us! We spent like 10 minutes outside (it was cold and the girls complained) and then went inside to gift shop. My mom treated us with the Famous Donuts that are made on top of the Peak that was feature on Food Network! They were really good and ours had fudge (not frosting) but real fudge on top!!

Now whenever we go outside or look out of our living room window we are reminded of the fun trip we took to the top!!

*I only felt sick when I walked down the stairs to the train and the rest of the trip I was great!

4th of July 2010

We started our celebrations on the 3rd at Fort Carson for their Firework show! It was amazing no one cried! Brooklyn in the past had troubles with fireworks and we were a little nervous. Little Link just sat in my lap in Ahh! Not saying a thing and only talking when I'd ask him questions.
On the 4th of July we had an amazing Fast and Testimony meeting! I really really really wanted to bare my testimony being that it was our last Testimony in this wonderful ward we had been in for almost 3 years!! But Link woke up around 9:00 am that morning and wasn't ready for a nap when we all wanted him to be... so he was the fussy little kid you hear screaming "Ut aa" and saying, "Annie, Annie, Annie... HI" to the little girl across the aisle from us. I then volunteered in the Library (and forgot to go back at the end to collect things, oops!) and had to settle sharing my testimony to the sisters in RS.
After church we headed over to my parents for a BBQ and a back yard firework show! I have to admit Link did get a little scared with all the close up loud noises, but was easily distracted with M&M's! Below our are photos from this fun day!!
