This is Lawrence Clare Mann. But is known by his friends by Larry and is known by his loved ones by Dad or Grandpa! He is my Father, my friend, my hero and if you ask him he is the LUCKIEST Dad/Grandpa in the world!
I have countless stories and fond memories of my Dad. Some stick out more then others, here are a few;
My Dad use to wait up every time on the couch for me when I would go on dates. I know you are thinking yikes, scary. But no, he would be there to talk to me to see how it went. He would sit there sleepily but intently and listen to my little girlie details.
Most recently, the tables have turned, and he has called up Cameron to ask permission to go on dates with our girls. He took both the girls one at a time for a special date with grandpa. They ran errands, then went out to cold stone to share ice cream. The girls are already looking forward to their next date. Which I couldn't be happier so the girls can learn how to be treated by boys on dates (they will have high standards).
My dad was our ball boy for soccer games, the pop corn maker for parties, the one on the side line cheering for the cheer leaders. I have never heard him swear or speak ill of anyone. Whenever I call, he always says, "I was just thinking of you!" or "I was just about to call you." You rarely seeing him sitting on a chair because he is always playing around with the kids on the ground. He wears his emotions on his sleeves and is always up to a good cry with me on my emotional days/weeks/years (whatever the case may be). One hug is never enough. Good bye are always long and hello's come back even quicker. Since we have been back in the Springs there isn't a week that goes by that we don't talk or see each other. He is always trying to find ways to help. He gives so much of his time and his efforts.
He is the most giving, loving, fun man I know! I am so glad that he is my Dad and love and appreciate him more then words can tell.
Happy Father's Day
From the luckiest daughter!
