Doe a Deer, A Female Deer

For the last couple of days the girls and I have seen some baby deers (fawns) around the court yard of our townhouse on our daily walks. The first time we saw one it had run away from where the mother was (she could no longer see him) and onto someones porch! We checked on the baby 3 to 4 times (the owners weren't home) and there it still was. I even did some research on how to care for one because we saw the mother ran away completely out of our neighborhood. We called the wildlife division people and got some good information. Many times a mother will leave their fawn in a "safe" place and return later for them. Which I should have known this from watching Bambi so many times. Since our first spotting we have seen two babies with the mother and two babies left alone on peoples porches. It is great! It is like playing where's waldo! Brooklyn wants to leave our gate open so the fawns can come visit our home! Cameron thinks we should call Children Services on the mother for abandoning her young!
